Well, I wanted to leave it open for Anthony to tell whichever KotOR2 anecdote he thought made the best untold story. Kevin's version of the story is probably a lot more interesting, one, he has a better mind for the details that would make it more interesting, two, he's got designer and writing skills so,he can embellish and be more colorful, and three, he was more calm during the exchange than I was. We had good producers, but we didn't have enough of them for KOTOR2.Īnyway, I eventually apologized for being a jerk and losing my temper, and Kevin graciously accepted my apology. This is where good producers are really important FYI. Kevin did not set my tasks, so it wasn't his fault. Kevin was ordered to cut the area But no one had told me and no one had removed it from my task list. In the aftermath, I never found out who screwed up (besides me losing my professional bearing). Ohh it was bad and now, it's embarrassing. Adam was laughing, and Kevin, to his credit, got back up in my face. I mean yelling LOUD, in a work environment. I redlined almost immediately and started yelling at Kevin and everyone. Kevin got a quizzical look on his face and said that area had been cut last week. I walked in and asked him what to about X (I honestly can't even remember the details now of the problem). he was currently working on another area with Adam Brennecke. After putting my head down and going full speed for about 4 or 5 days on it, I hit a stumbling block. I was tasked with scripting on one of Kevin's areas in Nar Shada. We were getting down to the wire, we had all been working hard and putting in long hours. This is only my side of the story, there is without a doubt more to it. maybe three or four times that's can remember while at Obsidian. It involves one of the times i famously lost my temper. If your game features shooting and is on the PC, it should not play better with a gamepad. It plays a lot better when you use a gamepad. Horrible port? I mean, it's not the greatest, but it's fine. New Vegas was brilliant though and people who cry about it being buggy but then go on to defend Skyrim (the crashiest fucking AAA game that ever earned above a 90 on metacritic) make me sad. I didn't 'overlook it' I paid perfectly good money for an unplayable shit game and therefore hate it. To be fair, Alpha Protocol had a horrible PC port that was like poop from a butt. It's about time this sucker was finished up so people can actually play the best Star Wars game the way it was always meant to be.

First it was KotOR 2 due to being rushed out by LucasArts, then Alpha Protocol being overlooked by a great many people, and lately with the Fallout: New Vegas Metacritic bonus debacle. Poor Obsidian, always getting screwed over somehow.
